Do you treat jaw tension, TMJ, or teeth grinding with Botox?
Yes. Masseter Botox is injected into the jaw muscle to relieve TMJ discomfort, reduce teeth grinding (bruxism), and soften an overdeveloped jawline. This is a different application from regular Botox, which targets dynamic wrinkles like forehead lines and crow’s feet. Both are available at our Carmel Valley office.
How long does it take to see Botox results, and how long do they last?
Botox typically takes 3-7 days to take effect, with results lasting 3-4 months. Masseter Botox may take 2-4 weeks to show visible jaw slimming, since it depends on gradual muscle changes rather than wrinkle relaxation.

What facial areas and concerns can dermal filler address?
Beyond lip augmentation, dermal fillers restore volume in the cheeks, smooth nasolabial folds, and define the chin and jawline. Each area uses a different hyaluronic acid formulation suited to that tissue.
Can Botox and dermal filler be combined in the same visit?
Yes. Since Botox addresses muscle movement and filler addresses lost volume, many patients combine both for a complete, natural-looking result in a single appointment.

What areas of the face and body do you treat with laser hair removal?
We treat the upper lip, chin, underarms, arms, legs, back, chest, and Brazilian/bikini areas for both men and women, with treatment plans customized to skin tone and hair type.
Why does laser hair removal require multiple sessions instead of one treatment?
Hair grows in cycles, and laser treatment only affects hair in its active growth phase. Since not all follicles are in that phase at once, a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart is needed to treat hair across its full growth cycle.

How should I prepare for my appointment?
Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup or lotion in the treatment area, and avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand, as it can increase bruising or sensitivity for many treatments. Come with a list of current medications and supplements to review with your provider.
Should I avoid sun exposure before my visit?
Yes. Recent sun exposure or tanning can affect skin sensitivity and treatment safety for many procedures. Try to avoid direct sun and tanning for at least 1-2 weeks before your appointment.
What should I bring to my consultation?
Bring a valid photo ID and a list of any medications, supplements, or allergies. If you’ve had previous aesthetic treatments elsewhere, it’s helpful to share that history with your provider.
Should I stop any medications before my appointment?
Certain medications and supplements, such as blood thinners, fish oil, and vitamin E, can affect bruising and healing for many treatments. Always consult with our clinical team about your current medications before your appointment.
