Viva Fractional Radiofrequency Facial :
Everything You Should Know About Venus Viva Skin Resurfacing
What is Venus Viva?
The Venus Viva skin resurfacing treatment is a non-invasive resurfacing device that targets and corrects skin imperfections and reverses signs of aging. Skin conditions that the Venus Viva can treat include scarring, stretch marks, rosacea, large pores, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and skin discoloration. An alternative treatment to the Venus Viva is a CO2 laser. The CO2 laser burns off the top layer of skin to allow for cell turnover, collagen production, and the formation of a new surface layer of skin. The CO2 laser procedure is associated with much pain and downtime, making the Venus Viva a preferred treatment.
How Does Venus Viva Treatment Work?
The Venus Viva device is utilized metal micro pins that emit radiofrequency heat to the treatment area. The pins create micro-injuries to the skin’s epidermis and are forced to naturally heal itself. This procedure can treat skin damage and signs of aging on the outer layer of the skin. Although an anesthetic numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to ease the pain, the micro-injuries that are created during this procedure are much less painful than resurfacing that is performed with a CO2 laser.
The Following Skin Conditions Can Be Treated with Venus Viva:
- Scarring, fine lines, blemishes on the surface of the skin
- hyperpigmentation (ie. sun spots, freckles)
- Redness and rosacea
- Loose skin in the jowl, neck, and chest areas
- Uneven skin tone and texture
Am I a Good Candidate?
The right candidate for this treatment is someone with scarring, fine lines, pigmentation concerns, or loose skin and seeking to tighten and lift. The Venus Viva treatment aims to help those seeking a smoother and tighter complexion.
Pre-care Instructions:
At least two weeks prior to treatment, avoid direct sun exposure. On the day of the procedure, do not apply any lotion or make-up on the treatment area.
What Can I Expect During the Treatment?
An anesthetic numbing cream will be used in order to make the treatment more comfortable. During the treatment, a handheld device containing micro-pins will be stamped across the treatment area to deliver radiofrequency energy to the skin. The entire procedure will take about twenty minutes depending on the size of the treatment area. As the energy is delivered to the skin, you will feel a warm needle sensation as if someone is pricking your skin. The pain should be minimal since the numbing cream is used. This treatment is generally easily tolerated by most patients.
Is there Downtime?
For the first few days following the treatment, most patients encounter minor redness as the body tries to naturally heal itself from the damage caused by the micro-pins and radiofrequency energy. The majority of patients can resume normal daily activities and will not need to miss work after the Venus Viva procedure. It is recommended to refrain from using make-up for at least 24 hours after treatment, avoid intense exercise for 48 hours, and stay out of the sun as much as possible for the next two weeks.
When Will Results Be Noticeable?
After the initial treatment, an improvement of the skin will be noticed. More than one session is likely necessary to reach your desired skin goals. Patients usually require three to four sessions performed four to six weeks apart in order to notice optimal results and their desired complexion.
How Does the Treatment Work?
The objective of the Venus Viva skin resurfacing treatment is to create micro-injuries and damage the epidermis layers of the skin with radiofrequency in order to trigger the body’s natural healing process. In repairing itself, the body will create collagen and new skin cells. This will lead to a smoother and more even skin tone and texture as well as a reduction in dark spots and scars.
Can the Venus Viva Be Combined with Other Treatments?
This procedure can be used in conjunction with other treatments such as IPL to assist in removing pigmentation, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion to eliminate acne, and neurotoxins and dermal fillers to improve facial structure and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The Venus Viva treatment can also be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to allow for a quicker recovery process and make the treatment more effective.
