Microneedling With Radiofrequency (RF)
A smooth, elastic and firm skin are known to be the symbol of youth. Collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid are the fundamental compounds that contribute to these effects. Both microneedling devices and radiofrequency devices are being used for skin tightening and rejuvenation, however, when these devices are combined, it creates a synergy that amplifies the rejuvenation process. We are proud to provide you with the latest technology in microneedling with radiofrequency to rejuvenate and tighten your skin.
What’s Microneedling With RF (Radiofrequency)?
Microneedling with RF is a safe treatment that is FDA cleared. This treatment uses microneedles to deliver radio frequency energy into the various depth of the skin including the dermis, and deeper layers where treatment is most effective.
it combines two nonsurgical therapies to tighten your skin, to enhance your skin’s texture and tone, to treat acne scars, and to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines with minimal discomfort and little or no downtime. Microneedling with RF induces collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production. Microneedles makes microscopic injury in the deeper layer of the skin (dermis) and the RF energy is delivered directly into the dermis through these quoted microneedles. This energy heats up the dermis and stimulates the natural process of healing with the help of growth factors to produce elastin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid. Over multiple treatments, your skin becomes firmer and smoother.
Since this treatment precisely focuses on deeper layers of your skin, your skin surface isn’t damaged, which makes this treatment safe for people of all skin colors and type.
How Does Microneedling With Radiofrequency Work?
RF microneedling involves the insertion of microneedles into the dermis which is the deeper layer of the skin, and deliver RF energy into the specific area. These microneedles create micro-wound to the dermis initiating a cascade of healing. These partially injured cells release wound healing signals to undifferentiated cells resulting in a localized inflammatory response that last from 1 to 6 hours following the procedure. The micro injuries caused by microneedles and RF energy stimulate fibroblasts to the production of new elastin and collagen. This newly produced collagen and elastin fills in the injured areas and tightens your skin.
Your skin will continue producing new collagen and elastin anywhere from a few weeks to up to 8 months following the procedure. The heat produced by radiofrequency generates a healing response that triggers collagen production and remodeling, allowing your skin to redensify meaning tighten and stick closer to the underlying tissue and muscles.
Why Is Microneedling With Radiofrequency Better Than Other Treatments Or Technologies Available Today?
The energy is delivered to multiple layers of the skin resulting in a unique wound geometry due to the design of the needle electrodes. This is in contrast to HIFU technology such as Ultherapy where the energy is delivered to small blebs of tissue in a single layer. This unique design of wound geometry results in more volumization of the tissue making it fuller and plump, and more transformative effects.
- You can selectively treat lesions based on the length of your needles.
- The side effects are minimal in the epidermis as a result of the insulated needles.
- Very short downtime.
- There is no scab after the procedure
- Less pain.
- We add PRP for faster healing and more collagen and elastin production.
What Is Microneedling With Radiofrequency Used For?
- Firms up and tightens the facial skin, and also the skin of chest, neck, or anywhere else in the body that needs rejuvenation
- Decreases wrinkles on the décolletage
- Minimizes or eliminates pores
- Minimizes or eliminates acne scars
- Minimizes or eliminates stretch marks
- Reduces melasma and rosacea
- Reduces oiliness of the skin
- Treats sun damage
- Improves skin tone and texture
- Reduces wrinkles and fine lines
- Brings back your youthful glow
For an optimal result, a series of 3 treatments is recommended, every three to four weeks.
The microneedling with radiofrequency treatment is effective and safe for all skin tones and skin types to reduce sagging skin, improve textural changes, fine lines and wrinkles and scars on the body, neck, and face.
The microneedling with radiofrequency treatment may be combined with other types of procedures such as Botox and dermal fillers, or laser resurfacing procedures to reduce or eliminate sun damage.
(PRP) can also be added to the microneedling with radiofrequency to accelerate collagen production and enhanced healing.
Who Is Not A Candidate For The Microneedling With Radiofrequency Treatment?
People with these following conditions should avoid this treatment:
- Skin disease (excluding acne)
- Skin infections
- Bleeding disorders,
- If they are on anticoagulant medication,
- Vascular implant or stent,
- Skin malignancy.
What Is The Microneedling With Radiofrequency Procedure Like?
Microneedling with radiofrequency is a safe, easy and effective procedure performed inside our office. During this procedure, you will experience some pressure and heat on the treatment area we apply local anesthesia numbing cream on the treatment area to minimize pain and discomfort.
How Many Microneedling With Radiofrequency Treatments Do I Would Need?
Many factors should be considered when it comes to the number of treatment. Depending on the age and each person has different skin. Depending on age, skin elasticity, sun damage, wrinkles, and fine lines. To achieve the optimal result, we typically suggest 3 to 4 treatments every 4 weeks.
Does Microneedling With RF Treatments Hurt?
We make sure that our patients are the most comfortable. We will apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area 30 minutes before the start of the procedure
How Long Does The Microneedling With RF Treatment Take?
It will depend on the treatment area. It takes about 45 to 90 min.
What Are The Risks The Microneedling With RF Treatment?
You may experience some swelling immediately after the treatment, which can go down with an ice pack.
There is very little risk of infection. Although the microneedles are sterilized a bacterial infection could be possible but are extremely rare and it can be avoided by proper aftercare treatment.
- Pigmentation could be caused by picking the skin and sun exposure following treatment.
- Folliculitis caused by increased block pores will rapidly resolve.
- Redness can vary from patient to patient and usually settles within 24 to 48 hours.
- Tiny marks could persist for a couple of days and dryness of the skin could persist for 3 to 7 days.
- a little bit of bruising is also possible it could take a week so to disappear.
What Is The Downtime?
Microneedling with RF treatment leaves the whole surface layer (epidermal) intact, the patient to resume their normal activities quickly.
What Should I Do After Microneedling With RF Treatment To Have The Best Results?
Aftercare plays a significant role in reducing recovery time. Keep the treatment area clean after the treatment session for a few days. Stay away from the sun and make sure to use plenty of sunscreens to avoid pigmentation from sun exposure. Avoid therapeutic messages. More intense microneedling with RF treatment may lead to skin flaking as the fresh skin layer regenerates, moisturizing lotions are recommended.
When Can I Start Seeing Results?
It takes your body about 1 to 4 four weeks to produce collagen as for the tightening and final result are going to show up gradually over the next 6 to 8 months after your treatment
