PRF Therapy For Stretch Marks San Diego

Stretch marks typically look like a series of parallel lines on your skin. These lines can be different in texture and color than the normal skin. The color can range from purple to pink to light gray. When you touch them with your fingertips, you can feel a slight indentation. Sometimes, stretch marks can become itchy or sore. Stretch marks are caused by stretching of the external layer of your skin and increased levels of cortisone, a hormone naturally produced by your adrenal glands. Typical causes of stretch marks are weight fluctuations, pregnancy, implants, and muscle building. Platelet-rich fibren (PRF) therapy has been proven to be a highly effective solution to eliminate or reduce stretch marks.

While a wide variety of noninvasive treatments can be found for the treatment of stretch marks, including laser therapy, which is currently used to treat stretch marks, they produce significantly less than satisfactory results in most cases. PRF therapy for stretch marks is a highly promising natural solution that can remove or at least reduce stretch marks up to 100%. Platelet-rich fibren (PRF) extracted from your own blood, is coupled with micro-needling and targeted PRF injections to treat a wide variety of imperfections in your skin, including stretch marks. The areas typically treated with PRF for stretch marks are the buttocks, abdomen, upper arms and thighs. Our San Diego PRF treatment clinic, Allurant Aesthetics, receives patients from the entire San Diego County for PRF therapy for stretch marks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Does The Process Work?

PRF therapy for stretch marks involves a number of regeneration and remodeling steps in your body. When the external skin tissue is injured, our body responds by increasing the production of platelets at the trauma site to stimulate cell growth and repair.

Scientists believe the injection of platelet-rich fibren (PRF), extracted from patients own blood and rich in growth factors, into the area will stimulate the production of elastin and collagen which will eliminate or significantly reduce stretch marks naturally. Click here for more information.

What Can You Expect From the Service?

We first prepare your stretch mark area and apply an anesthetic cream. We will then draw blood from your arm and place it into a specialized centrifuge machine to separate the platelet-rich fibren (PRF) from red blood cells. The PRF will then be transferred into a syringe and injected with a tiny needle into the collagen of the skin underlying the stretch marks.

The injections of platelet-rich fibren (PRF), rich in growth factors, stimulate collagen production in the affected area. The natural healing process will boost the quantity of new collagen production. This will allow your skin to become smoother and tighter.

After the injection of required PRF is completed, we apply additional PRF topically in the area and use microneedling for extra absorption. The PRF could be mixed with Thrombin JMI to make a gel. This gel will be applied topically over the stretch marks area.

The combination of a PRF injection in addition to the use of a topical application of PRF with microneedling helps heal the stretch marks. As your skin’s volume and elasticity improves, your stretch marks will be reduced or eliminated.

How Long Does the Process Take?

The entire PRF therapy for stretch marks procedure typically takes 30 minutes to one hour depending on how large of an area is being treated. We recommend that you drink lots of water and eat a healthy meal prior to the procedure.

Is the Procedure Painful?

This natural rejuvenating procedure is painless because we apply a topical anesthetic cream and use tiny needles for the targeted injections. Our physicians and nursing personnel will numb up the area prior to the procedure for better ease and comfort. Although people who go through this natural stretch mark remedy are comfortable, bruising and swelling can occur. To prevent this, we may apply cool compresses to the area.

When Can I Start Seeing Results from the Therapy?

You can immediately see some plumping of the skin after the PRF therapy for stretch marks. It takes the body up to three weeks to rejuvenate cells and build the collagen in the PRF applied area (the results may vary for each individual).

How Many Sessions Are Needed?

Depending on the severity of the stretch marks, we typically recommend 1 to 3 treatment sessions, four weeks apart. Our physicians will overview your unique PRF treatment plan with you during your first visit.

Are There any Side Effects from PRF Therapy For Stretch Marks?

To date, there has never been any serious side effect from any PRF treatment. However, just like any injections, you may experience some mild discomfort, minor swelling and bruising at the site of PRF injections. Once the redness fades away the tightening and rejuvenation will begin.
